Using critical digital literacy skills to evaluate online information related to the effect of AI for students

This week I’ve been putting my critical digital literacy skills to use by searching for information about an internet safety issue: The impact of AI for students.

I’ve looking at the impact for students which is basically when students use AI for their assignment or homework or more.

Useful AI

Many people became using AI such as ChatGPT after AI is developed in 2023 for their research, business and even medication to improve accuracy and speed and, student use for their homework.

Student use AI

After AI was popular, many students utilize AI for their assignments, homework especially writing essay. If students use AI a lot, they might be not building their essential skills to use after graduate university and stop students thinking. In addition, they sometimes get misinformation from AI.

Who is affected?

According to Rao (2023), some students are affected from this issue:

・People with disabilities

・People who English is not first language

・Multilingual

because....

AI include some misinformation. AI takes in only what it has trained to taken in so that there are many misinformation. the software can incorrectly label written works as AI-generated when they are not. In addition, If these students just believe it, some students maybe falsely accused of cheating, which could interfere with their education and stigmatise them.

How does it happen?

If AI become more useful, students use a lot because it is easier, faster and high quality than doing by themselves to finish assignments and homework. Some people feel lazy to do homework so that it is good tools.😳

In addition, developers does not advanced more to regulate this problem.
