This week I’ve been putting my critical digital literacy skills to use by searching for information about an internet safety issue: Digital Marketing 


I have been looking at some risks of artificial intelligence in digital marketing, which basically reflect how digital marketing has been artificialized – how people’s creations are faded away in online advertising.

What is AI in Digital Marketing? 

Ultimately, this concept is understood by taking advantage of Artificial Intelligence to hasten the marketing process. AI mainly appears in these processes: collecting data, data analysis, social media monitoring, and video making. 

The main target of using AI is to approach customers, restructure and heighten marketing campaigns, as well as minimize human errors

Why using AI in Digital Marketing is an issue? 

According to Forbes (2024), overusing Artificial Intelligence in Digital Marketing has a range of causes, including not only intellectual property and patent violations but also the loss of brand trademarks. In the same source, Forbes also highlights the magnitude of this problem by mentioning a range of consequences, such as subsequent saturation, human monitoring, legal patents, personal trademarks, authenticity, misalignments and inaccuracies, derry, manipulative broad spectrum, brand voices and human creativity.
