🔎Issues with the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Digital Contents
This week, I’ve been putting my critical digital literacy skills to use by searching for information about an internet safety ”Issue with the use of Artificial Intelligence in digital content”.
Understanding AI in Digital Content
I have been exploring an article about the issue with using AI in digital content. Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is used to create, manage, and distribute digital materials, including articles and videos and can personalize content based on user preferences. Despite its advancement, the content generated by AI can sometimes be of low quality or misleading. There are some concerns about job displacement for human contents creator, privacy issues and copy right law implications regarding to AI-generate content.
Why is it the Issue?
AI systems can produce content that may not align with the ethical standards which can lead to or of low quality because it relies on existing data, which may contain error biases. Inaccurate spread content can misinform readers, shaping their opinions and decisions. Additionally, AI's unable to understand the context and response as humans do which means the content it create can sometimes miss the point .
Moreover, AI mostly relies on data to function. which can be misused without proper consent. Intellectual property challenges arise because AI can replicate work without giving credit, making plagiarism detection hard and raising questions about copyright ownership.
Who is Affected?
.Content Creators: Facing job loss as AI automatestasks like writing and creating social media content also posing significant challenges for those relying on these jobs.
.Consumers: The false or biased information in AI-generated content which can shape their opinions and decisions.
.Developers: Must address ethical and technical challenges to ensure AI systems produce high-quality and fair content.
💭 SUMMARY
To sum up, while AI in digital content creation offers many advancements, it also brings significant ethical and practical challenges. Issues such as producing misleading or low-quality content, privacy concerns, and intellectual property disputes highlight the need for stringent ethical guidelines and regulations. Addressing these challenges is crucial to ensure that AI-generated content is reliable, respects privacy, and credits original creators appropriately. By doing it so, we can maintain the integrity of information consumed online and protect the livelihoods of human content creators.
